If you’ve been pining for a review of the adult webchat site once known as CamFever, this must be your lucky day! After weeks of hardboiled detective work that took me though the myriad twists and turns of the cyberspace jungle, to the ends of the Information Superhighway at breakneck speeds and past the stinking dens of cutthroat Internet pirates, I’ve finally discovered what happened to CamFever. It took a lot of pork rinds and Jolt Cola, but at last it became clear that CamFever has morphed into something with the intriguing name of HotSoloCams.
Okay, the truth is, that’s where the old link I have for CamFever goes to. What’s your point? Who has time to go through all the twists and turns of cyberspace at breakneck speeds anyway? However I did it, it’s a fact that HotSoloCams is the site that used to be called CamFever, having dropped its old domain name off at the Internet equivalent of the Animal Shelter. Fear not, however, for the CamFever domain has since been adopted by another similar adult chat site.
But we’re talking about HotSoloCams here. Here’s what it looks like.
And Away We Go
Not bad, eh? I like the way it looks. It’s got a nice variety of soft, snuggly girl types, and the layout is quite attractive, if you ask me. Of course, the real question is not how nice the site looks, but whether there’s any free teaser chat available to warm the heart of your cockles? Well, um…did I mention that this site has lots of variety? There are more than 500 models on the site, the large majority of whom are women. During several recent forays, I found between 62 and 175 solo girls performing, which was pretty darn impressive.
And here’s another thing: once you sign up to become a member (which is both easy and free), you have access to each model’s picture gallery, which can be very stimulating indeed. You’ll find lots of nice images here, including full frontal nudity. There were plenty of Russian and European girls, of course (the site appears to be operated out of Germany), but I also saw some yummy black girls and what looked to be the occasional Latina. Not only that, there were some attractive BBWs with very abundant assets who looked like a lot of fun.
Too bad I couldn’t talk to anybody.
The Rest of the Story
Okay. I can’t avoid this forever. HotSoloCams is a nice-looking little site, with lots of free images, but once again, the question is, “Does it have good free teaser chat, dammit?” The answer is, “No, it does not.” It doesn’t have any free teaser chat. Not a smidgen. Which is way disappointing, because I really wanted to love this site. But as it is, the best we can ever be is friends. There it is: the F-word, and it’s me using it. Damn. Whoever thought it would come to this?
It could be worse. This site could be like 2lips or 247live, and have almost nothing at all to offer. But at least you can chat with the girls there, if you can find any. HotSoloCams has just the opposite problem: plenty of hot girls, and no teaser chat at all. Not even text chat, for Pete’s sake!
Here’s how this silliness works. Yes, it’s free and easy to sign up for the site. That’s true. They say they have free text chat, but that’s a great big fib. The only way to get your free text chat is to have a positive balance in your account. How’s that again? The text chat is free, but you have to pay money to get it? Look in your German-English dictionary one more time, guys — “free”, in this sense at least, means “no money.” No dinero. Kein Geld. Gratis. Aucun argent. Et cetera.I think you get what I’m trying to say. I’ve never been one to pull my punches, even with my friends, so I have to tell you: I hate false advertising. Hate it.
Money…It’s a Sin
I have to admit that the only appropriate response to some of the girls advertised at HotSoloCams is, plain and simply, “Holy shit.” These Germanic frauleins are hotter than a tin roof in Death Valley in high summer, if you catch my drift. They’re almost enough to make me put money in my account (as if!). If your self-control is a little less tight than my own and you’re willing to pay, be apprised that most of the girls charge somewhere between $1.99 and $3.00 per minute for private chat. Now, the site accepts only Mastercard and Visa, and you can charge increments of $25, $50, and $100. Don’t let your Significant Other see the credit card statement, though, because they put it right out there as “Video Chat Services.” Geez, they might as well tattoo “I’m a Pervert” on your forehead. I mean, who the hell do you know who uses chat hosts for anything but porn? ICQ or telephone are easier, if you’re just talking to your Aunt Ethel in Delaware.
And So…
…there’s not a lot more to say. This is a pretty little gem of the site, and it’s better populated than many I come across. As far as I can tell, it has no significant technical issues, either. But the long and short of it is, there’s absolutely no free teaser chat, which I find amazing. How the hell are they ever going to compete against Flirt4Free, where it’s all free, all the time, until you’re ready to commit and go private? Even if you did get free text chat, well, that’s nothing to shout about. How do you know you’re not talking to someone’s chain-smoking granny in Tacoma? You don’t.
Gotta be tough here, so here’s the verdict. From a free teaser chat perspective, HotSoloCams, neé CamFever, is a losing bet. Don’t bother with it.
