IsLive is kind of an accidental discovery. It just so happens that I keep a list of the URLs of all the adult chat sites that disappear before I get around to reviewing them. You never know – sometimes, an entrepreneur will buy the domain name and resurrect a new site on the ashes of the old. That’s what happened here. The URL for Camstyle.nl, an old Netherlands chat site, now redirects here for some reason. Not that I’m complaining; it’s always nice to find a new site.

So IsLive is an accidental find, but it is a happy one? Let’s find out. For your personal reference, here’s a somewhat censored version of their splash page:

As you can see, I had to use a lot of those little black stars I love so much to make this picture presentable for the Web. You know what that means – lots of gratuitous nudity. Now, I realize this screenshot doesn’t look much more than PG, but in fact I had to keep refreshing the screen in order to get a screenshot that wasn’t full of thumbnails of girls masturbating and digging deep with their dildos. (All together, now: Awwwwww!). I love it when I find a splash page like this one, because it’s a sign of a good, raunchy chat site where the girlies are willing to put in a little effort for their clients. And by effort, I mean cheap and explicit solo sexual activity.

The emphasis, unfortunately, has to be on the “cheap” with this site, because the crumbums who run it won’t let you have any free chat at all. Not even a minute! No, you have to register and prime your account with moolah – preferably Euros, though they’ll happily take dollars, too.

While I wouldn’t normally discuss money so early in a review, I have to admit that the IsLive (nee Camstyle.nl) offers a pretty good deal. Membership is free; all you do is give them your special email address and your password, and you’re a member. You don’t have to worry about a user name, or any expensive monthly membership fee. Of course, you can’t do anything until you fill your “Secure Wallet” with cash, which you can do using your Visa or MasterCard at a rate of 10 Euros for 10.63 minutes, 20 Euros for 21.25 minutes, 30 Euros for 31.88 minutes, and 60 Euros for 63.75 minutes (don’t ask me about the weird minute calculations; I don’t get it either). If you go that route, visiting with the girls costs €0.95 per minute. That’s about $1.35, which is an excellent price. Alternately, you can call a 1-900 number, get a four-digit access code, and have private chat for $1.99 a minute. Still a pretty good deal, and if a cheap bastard like me says it, you know you can take it to the bank.

IsLive suffers from the primary problem of all new chat sites, which is a limited roster – though it does have about 200 performers, which isn’t as bad as it might be. A high percentage of them tend to be online anytime you check, too. One thing that I was impressed by was the variety. While the ladies were mostly European and Asian (no surprise there), there were a lot of women performing that you wouldn’t see one other sites – that is to say, older women, and those who don’t quite measure up to the skinny teen ideals that most chat sites (and most men, sadly) demand. Frankly, some of the women here I didn’t find especially attractive, but I’m not the ultimate arbiter of feminine beauty, either. There happen to be some cuddly BBWs here that I happen to know others would pass over (probably to their detriment) in a heartbeat, but I happen to think they’re cute. On the other hand, the heroin chic look? I don’t get it. I’ve never found skeletons all that attractive.

Oh, and there are quite a few ladyboys here, too, which is unusual given the size of the site; you usually see them only on the larger venues, especially the Asian sites. These lovelies are Asian themselves, of course. Not my cuppa, but they may be yours; I know a lot of folks like ‘em. I’ve gonna write an entry about that one day.

Survey says!

I’m of two minds about IsLive. I actually like it. I don’t think the roster’s up to snuff yet, but they do offer a wider variety of ladies than most sites like this do – in body type, if not in ethnicity. And the price is right : it’s not as cheap as ExtasyCams, but it’s so much better than most sites that it gets high marks just for that. It really irks me, then, that I can’t recommend it here. After all, this is a site celebrating free teaser chat, and IsLive has none. Not a smidgen. If, however, you’re able to pry open your wallet for your credit card and pay for chat, you’ll find a great deal at IsLive.
