LiveCamNetwork is an interesting find. It’s not very big, mind you, but it’s still interesting. I like the way they’ve put together a nice “Scheduled Chat Models” section on the splash page, so you know who’s coming online in the next day or so — all the better to schedule your life around your chatting sessions. Admittedly, they probably set up this useful feature for a purely practical reason (that is, to camouflage their general lack of online performers) but that doesn’t detract from its usefulness. It’s nice to know who’s getting ready to step into the batting box.
Oh, and did I mention these girls are overwhelmingly Canadian? Take a look at the website, eh?
Talk Nerdy to Me
It’s nice to get a grin (as well as a woody) from an adult chat site, and with LCN’s motto (printed above), they’ve managed the former. The latter I like to leave to the girls themselves. As I’ve said, these ladies are almost all Canadian — that’s where the main LCN studios are located, according to the call-for-talent they’ve got printed at the bottom of the splash page. This is good, because it makes the chatting easier; all the girls speak English. But wait — speaking of chatting, what chatting is there? Tragically, you can’t chat at all if you lack moolah in your LCN account. That’s not to say that the free teaser is lacking, but it’s all free teaser video. If you fail to spread the simoleons around, you ain’t gonna say crap to the girls, yo. You’re muted, gagged, incommunicado. So all you get to do is watch the girls wiggle their goodies and coo at the paying customers.
Yeah, I know, time to call the wah-mbulance.
So! That’s one question answered. Plenty o’ free teaser video, assuming you can find a performer online (and this should not be considered a foregone conclusion), but you can’t talk to her, even if she’d talk to you, which is doubtful since you’re such a cheap bastard that you won’t pay for private action. But do they get nekkid in free chat? Well, not that I saw. While I’ve spent a lot of time at LiveCamNetwork lately, even I can’t stand guard 24/7. Considering the fact that they charge for Group Nude and Private Nude chat, I suspect that nekkid isn’t ever going to happen in the free.
What’s to See
Despite the lack of talkie-talkie, the video here is pretty darn good quality, and the chat host is larger and clearer than most. Considering that most of the girls are studio babes, you get pretty good lighting, too, so no complaints there. Some of the girls take the video chat thing a little far by responding to their admirers verbally, which as you may know I’ve never taken to — there’s a reason most of these girls should stay silent and let themselves be admired. (No offense, ladies). But different strokes, eh? You might just like it.
As you might expect from the fact that these girls are mostly Canucks, they’re also mostly fair-skinned — which is to say, lily-white. Poor things must not get much sun up there in the Great White North. That said, I did see a couple of delectable Asian lassies, and a chocolate-flavored babe or two. There were also a few Latinas, because in addition to its emphasis on Canadian studio girls, LCN also takes in camgirls from all over, as long as they have the equipment to make it work (both hardware and software, har har har). There are also some couples scattered through the roster; most of them are girl/girl duos, but I did notice one or two boy/girl sets, if’n that turns you on.
What you won’t see is a huge selection of performers to choose from; as far as I could tell, LCN has fewer than 200 performers on its roster, most are whom are unscheduled at any given time. That makes it a catch-as-catch-can situation, and even if you’re willing to pay for Nude Chat, you’ll end up sharing with a lot of other guys unless, of course, you’re willing to make that ultimate sacrifice and pay for Private Chat. And that ain’t cheap, either…but I’ll tell you about that in the next section.
What It Costs
What does LiveCamNetwork cost? Why, an arm and a leg, naturally. The Group Nude Chat is $4.00 a minute, and Private Nude Chat is $5.00. We’re talking U.S. dollars here, not Canadian ones. But even if it were Canadian dollars, the price would be all but unbearable.
The Good News™ is that membership is free, which happens to be my favorite word. All you do is offer up your username, password, and sacrificial e-mail address, and you’re in like Flynn. From there on, it’s up to you to decide who to spend your arm and leg on. I’d recommend Eve, if you can find her — she’s one of the rare lovelies that I could listen to all day.
Decisions, Decisions
Here’s the skinny on LiveCamNetwork: in my humble opinion: it’s headed in the right direction, but it needs some work. First of all, LCN needs to develop a roster with a greater depth of talent, something they probably already know, since they’ve got a semi-permanent call out for new girls on the splash page. Once they have more girls on the roster, the scarcity of girls online will take care of itself. The only other beef I have with the place is the price, but hey, a girl’s gotta eat. Otherwise, I’m enamored with the facts that a) the ladies they have online are pretty and easy to talk to (since English is the native language of most), and b) membership is free. This doesn’t mean I’ll stop watching Flirt4Free to watch LCN, but I’ll definitely add LCN to my check-it-out rotation. You should, too.
