Allow me to introduce you to Peekshows, if you haven’t already met. Peekshows, say hello to my readers, all three of them; readers, say hi to Peekshows. Peekshows is one of those little gems that make me glad I own a computer. It’s no Flirt4free (which is the gold standard for a reason, by golly), but it does offer a nice combo of free teaser chat and video. Whenever you venture to Peekshows, you’ll find several dozen girls ready to make your dreams come true.

Yum: just look at all that variety. Let’s see: in one glance I can recognize Asian girls, Caucasian girls, black girls, and Latinas. Viva la difference! It’s nice to see a good representation of the global population of female flesh, because sometimes you don’t at sites like this. Of course, by now most sites have gotten the message that people want to chat with all types of girls, so that’s not the problem it used to be. Even sites like Asianbabecam, which one might expect to be limited to, oh, Asian babes, has the occasional Latina or white girl.

Nude chat — yeah, baby!

You know, there are certain things that you make you glad to be a male: things like cheerleaders, miniskirts, Heather Locklear, Playboy magazine, boobs, and, of course, chatting for free with half-naked girls on your computer. Peekshows is a good source of the latter. Not all the girls in their “Nude Chat” section are nude; most are just scantily clad. This is OK by me, since after all, the brain is the most important sex organ. However, some of the girls don’t mind showing off their assets, as PrissyKristy’s doing here. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, when she removed her hand-bra, you could see the real deal! Occasionally they’ll do certain more explicit things if you ask, though of course a gentleman never kisses and tells…

Once you select the lady you’d like to spend some time with, you have to become a member before you can go forward. This is not, however, rocket science, nor will it cost you anything; all you have to do is offer your email address, your username, and a password (eight characters please, with at least one number). You’ll also have an option to buy chat tokens, which you’ll need later if you plan to go private with anyone. You have to purchase them using credit cards, but you do have the option of using your online Epassporte Visa, if you have one. Tokens start out at $1.19 each, but get cheaper the more you buy. First-time buyers get 25 free (woohoo!). Private mode costs you 5 tokens a minute for one girl; if you choose two girls (joy!) it costs ten. That’s kinda steep, but voyeur mode costs just one token a minute, which isn’t bad.

Technically, the site’s not half bad. With most girls (but not all), you have the option of selecting either high-speed or low-speed video. The video is good quality, by and large, though I did notice a few distortion problems with the high-speed video. As for system resources use — which I have been exquisitely aware of since I reviewed that elegant memory hog, AmsterdamliveXXX — Peekshows is a real lady, using no more memory than is necessary to get the job done.

Now for the griping!

By now, you’re probably aware that I operate under the assumption that a review’s not a review unless you make note of both the good and the bad in a site; otherwise it’s just a free advertisement, and I’m not one of those quote whores like Rex Reed and Gene Shallett (as if I would even stoop to reviewing movies anyway). I call ‘em like I see ‘em, as the blind umpire said. It will not surprise you, then, that I’m going to tell you all about what I didn’t like about Peekshows, to balance out all the good stuff.

Peekshows has a pretty good free chat/video thing going, but it’s too limited. After about five minutes, the system will shunt you to a page asking you to upgrade to premium membership. That’s free too, but they ask you for your name and credit card information, just in case you decide to buy some tokens on the sperm of the moment.

Sure, you can always click the back button and go back to chatting with your cutie, but you’ll still get annoyed regularly. Every couple of lines, a chat-bot (cursed thing!) will interject a comment about how if you were any kind of real man, you’d buy tokens and take the girl private. OK, so maybe I’m exaggerating a little, but the messages just keep on coming, like Long John Holmes back in the day. If you’re anything like me, you’ll find the constant interruptions annoying.

Now that the venom is out of my system, I’d like to make it clear that, overall, I found Peekshows to be quite a pleasant experience. The girls are cute, and some are willing to get nekkid in front of their cameras, even if you don’t pay to go private. That’s the mark of good free chat, right there. I like to get to know a girl, but I also like to get to know her skin, because, as you should be aware by now, Chris loves to look. Final answer on Peekshows: two thumbs (and other parts of the anatomy) definitely up.
