I started this particular review process feeling kind of optimistic about SexonCam; after all, here we have an adult chat site devoted to gen-you-wine British girls, who are known for their hot and sexy ways. Couldn’t be anything but right, right? Well, in the words of the old Waylon Jennings song, wrong. I know, I know, what was I thinking? Unbridled optimism from yours truly? I have to admit that I was a little feverish that day. Must have been something I ate.
Oh, SexonCam isn’t horrible or anything; it was just horribly disappointing. And it looked so nice to start out with. Check it for yourself.
Not bad-looking, right? Quite well laid-out, some intriguing categories, written in easy-to-understand English for a minimum of confusion, even a few instances of random nudity that required my favorite symbol, the Little Black Star™. Surely the ladies inside were ready to take the top of my head off with ummitigated and outrageous raw sensuality. Surely.
Here’s the way it is: the unfortunate reality is that SexonCam, despite its brilliant wrappings and all the high hopes the entire concept brings, is like a frontier town in an old Western movie. It looks substantial from the outside, but walk through one of the doors and you’ll find it’s all a bunch of scaffolding and bare walls, and there’s nothing inside but the back lot. I counted a total of fewer than 35 performers, including 19 UK single girls and three lesbian couples, one guy, two guy/girl couples, and two International girls. Sure, if their thumbnails are any indicator, these are some fine-looking , fun-loving sexy people. All of them happened to be white.
I could forgive the lack of variety, except that I could never find anyone home, something that irks me no end. Considering that the roster’s so small, it’s hardly surprising that no one was ever on during the times I checked the place out, even during the times when people were scheduled to be there. Yes, there’s a link to performer schedules, which I happen to think is a good idea, and you can even set it to your personal time-zone. But I must have done something wrong, because I could never link up with anyone when they were supposed to be one. The upshot of this is that I couldn’t answer either of my two favorite questions, which as you know are 1) Is there any free stuff? And 2) Do they get naked? No access, no answers.
My sense is that there isn’t any free at all at SexonCam, though as always I would be pleased to be proven wrong. The site seemed to be purely mercantile, which is you ask me is a flawed business plan for something like adult chat, but hey, who asked me? Let Flirt4Free steal away their business; what do I care? Anyhow, I can happily say that at least your membership is free. All you have to do is give them your username, password, and an email address, and access is yours. Be aware, however, that it may take a while for the site to acknowledge that your membership has been accepted. I waited so long when I signed up that I thought the computer had hung. As it turned out, I learned later that the site’s just really slow sometimes. I think it has something to do with the server, or maybe the fact that it wants to load about a hundred tiny graphic with each page.
As always, you can use your Visa or MasterCard to charge up your account, and apparently if you live anywhere but the USA you can charge your access to your phone bill. I’m not sure what that, since it wasn’t an option for me, but the per-minute rate if you pay by credit card is a flat $3.00 per minute. That’s pretty high by my lights. They do give you a slight break if you buy more than five minutes ($15): buy ten minutes ($30) and you get one minute free, buy 25 ($75) and you get three free. But here’s the kicker: you can’t buy more than that all at once, even if you want to. To avoid credit card fraud, you can make only purchase a day. That’s not going to inconvenience a cheapskate like me, but some of my buddies might get a little annoyed by what they perceive as Porno Police Tactics.
In the case of SexonCam, the good word is “No.” As in, No decent roster, Nobody home, and No free teaser chat. No video. No decent free stuff at all. Not surprisingly, the corollary to that finding is that SexonCam is No site you want site you want to bother with. No, No, No. Stick with the devils you know, instead of this one that’s just No.
