What has gotten into adult chat sites these days? There was a time when I couldn’t review a site without getting all the free stuff I could handle. Okay, admittedly, some that was free stuff I didn’t want, in the form of sneaky expensive sign-ups and pop-ups so aggressive they practically climbed out of the computer and raped me — thank you, CamChatter — but there were also sites like Flirt4Free and PrivateFriends that overwhelmed me with sexual goodness, some of it pretty extreme. Whatever happened to that? These days, it seems I rarely get the chance to experience it. Take TriCams, for example.
Free Chat? What Free Chat?
TriCams isn’t a bad site, but it’s pretty tame when it comes to free chat. In fact, let’s be frank: it’s so tame it’s almost dead. I’m sure its mother loves it and all, but this isn’t a good site for lovers of free stuff. That’s because there isn’t really any. They do have this offer going for $10 worth of free credit (shades of PassionCams, apparently a relative) but it’s pretty limited; more on that in a few minutes. As for the nudity — well, if the thumbnails are any indication, these girls have, in the classic words of Fountain of Wayne, Got It Goin’ On. And in. I haven’t seen so much pink since I took a look a wrong turn at the mall and ended up at the little girls’ department at Macy’s. So apparently the ladies at TriCams are willing to come across with the nudity, but they’re not willing to come across for free. Dammit.
The Goods
While it’s not a clone factory like SeventeenLive (thank goodness), I didn’t see a heck of a lot of variety at TriCams. Oh, there’s some — I found a few nice ebony maidens to examine, and the occasional Latina hottie, too. However, most of the woman-flesh on this particular site is of the white and Asian persuasion. Sure, black and Latina girls tend to be less common on any site than white and Asian girls, but the percentages here are unusually low. Don’t expect a lot of couples here, either, whether boy-girl or girl-girl. The last few times I’ve visited I couldn’t find more than a dozen, though the first time I encountered the site I recall several dozen at least. But you know how changeable these sites are.
Prices and Stuff
One of the things I really like about TriCams is the way their membership is set up. It doesn’t cost you a dime: you just give them a username and an email account, and they’ll send you your password, just like they do with PassionCams. Easy as pie. Even better, if you’re already a Passioncams member you don’t have to deal with that: just enter your PassionCams username and password, and they’ll work just fine. Apparently TriCams and PassionCams are owned by the some company. And then there’s that $10 worth of free credits they offer, which I mentioned earlier. It won’t last long — it’s what, five minutes? –but it’s not a bad deal for a one-shot. The thing I can’t stand about the deal is that they require you to give them your credit card info in advance, and I’m reluctant to do that; I’ve been burned too often recently. If you break down and decide to buy some credits, you’ll get another $10 free, even if you already took advantage of their free credits to try things out. Now, if I was a spending man, I’d call that a good deal. Anyhow, if you want to fill your online account with electronic green, you can do it in amounts of 29.95, $49.95, $79.95, $99.95, $129.95, and $149.95. The girls themselves charge as little as $1.49 per minute, though in some cases the rates get up to at least $2.99. Kind of expensive if you ask me.
Technical Considerations
Technical issues aren’t that big a deal to me, because I could care less whether a site uses dynamic caching and self-interlacing streaming video or whatever to get its shit together. Hell, maybe their chief engineer is Geordi LaForge, and he has to reverse the polarity on the subspace frequency dish to get it to do its thing.* So what? What I like is a site that doesn’t screw up my computer, like some that I still hold a grudge against lo these many months later, and I want to be able to navigate from one host to another without having to wait forever. TriCam allows this, so I’m happy from a technical standpoint. And while it’s not a requirement for a chat site of this nature, the layout is simple, clean, attractive, and written entirely in English, which I like, given my general dependence on my native tongue.
Final Words
Now if only I could recommend TriCams to you from a free chat standpoint — but I can’t. Like too many sites lately, and just like its sister site Passioncams, there’s no free to recommend. The $10 worth of free credits is a decent idea, but it’s a one-time thing, it’s not enough, and they want all your credit card and marketing information before they’ll give it up. No, instead of wasting your time here, go back to your old favorites like Flirt4Free. That way, you’ll know you’ll get a nice preview if you ever decide to buy.
